SAN DIEGO, CA February 15, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Diagnostic and Defense Technology Analysts, Inc. (DTA), based in San Diego, CA and Lund, Sweden, today announced its latest client, Lund University’s research and innovation department - birthplace of technologies such as the artificial kidney, medical ultrasound and Bluetooth.
Diagnostic and Defense Technology Analysts, Inc. (DTA) to work with Lund University’s research and innovation department - birthplace of technologies such as the artificial kidney, medical ultrasound and Bluetooth. DTA is an international commercialization company that provides market intelligence, technology assessments and other commercialization services. They will be using European Comimssion-awarded software tool TechAdvance™ to work with the Lund University team to assess new technologies.
The team at Lund University will be using the unique and award-winning TechAdvance™ software tool for technology assessment, commercialization and portfolio management that was developed in collaboration with researchers and commercialization practitioners. It uses a specific algorithm to identify which technologies have the greatest likelihood for successful commercialization, thus improving the rate at which these discoveries can be brought to market to help the population at large.
Lund University’s distinguished innovations date back to 1813 when Per Henrik Ling developed a system for massage and muscle stretching, today known as the Swedish or classical massage. Along the way they have brought us - in addition to the afore-mentioned - the inkjet printer, human chromosome number, respirator and later inhalator, face recognition and fingerprint readers, among others.
“That an organization with such a track record of world-changing technologies would choose our assessment services is humbling and gratifying, said Carey Adolfsson, DTA’s CEO. “These are inventions that have gone on to improve the lives of millions and millions of people.”
Technology assessments using TechAdvance™ are set to begin this month on a variety of projects in one of the university’s two world-renowned life sciences and materials research facilities.

The TechAdvance™ tool provides a practical framework for the assessment of research and technologies to identify those projects with the greatest potential for commercialization; it won the “Take It Up” award by European Commission’s innovation project Europe Innova. It was developed by Apprimo, a spin-out company from the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre at the Münster University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The company was founded in 2010 out of a market need for methods to facilitate improved university-business cooperation and to improve innovation ROI.
